I own about 100 domain names now and counting. I guess you could call it a hobby by now. They are so cheap and I am constantly coming up with new ventures and names. Almost all of them are vacant though. I am building a couple systems which will put some of these domain names to work with the effort of developing for only one site. Some of the domain names are just top level domain variations of names for brand protection.

Earlier tonight something really funny happened to me that is a pretty solid indicator that a person has a lot of domain names. What happened was I went to purchase a domain name and sadly found out that it was taken. So I then went and did a whois lookup on the domain name to see who the owner was. It was me! I owned the domain name that I was trying to purchase! I forgot that I even bought the domain name previously. That was hilarious to me when it happened. Someday that very same thing will hopefully be a common occurrence when it comes to businesses and real estate. Now that would be sweet.
