First Update for My 2010 Stacked Physique Commitment

So it has been one complete quarter (three months) since making my 2010 stacked physique commitment on October 31st, 2009. In this post, I am going to update you on my performance & experience in establishing consistent progress towards achieving my stacked physique since I started three months ago…

Good but Not Good Enough

Overall, I did good in my workouts throughout the past three months. However, this level of good is not good enough. The goal of my stacked physique commitment is to establish a workout habit that is consistent enough to predictably achieve my desired stacked physique in an efficient timeframe. Even through my workouts have been fairly consistent, my performance throughout the past three months simply does not cut it. So far, I’m not living up to my commitment. Writing that statement pisses me off and that is why I am publishing these quarterly updates, in order to provide further accountability to myself on top of the chance to potentially further connect with you through this personal commitment of mine.

Jump on the Bandwagon and Join Me

Again, to everyone who has provided any supportive feedback to me so far, I thank you so much. To my surprise, my initial commitment motivated at least 3 other people to declare a specific stretch commitment to physically developing their own bodies throughout 2010. This was awesome to witness this small but personally meaningful ripple effect for these other people. One of these people, who is a close cousin of mine, is going gangbusters with his consistency and has not missed one single day since his initial commitment. Although this has been tough to execute at times for him, this is not that surprising because of the proper engineering of pain/pleasure motivation that he setup for himself, based on my advice. Inspired by the terms of my commitment, he chose to opt-in for potential public embarrassment too and even signed a legal contract to back it up. I’m not sure how the others have performed thus far on their commitments, but I will certainly be checking in with them.

If you would like to publicly or privately declare a physical development commitment this year to your health and/or physique, then I will be happy to receive that commitment and try to help personally motivate you in making it into a true reality this year. Come on…STEP UP! You know you need to. ;)

Personal Exposure is One Month Away

If I don’t get my ass in gear right now and knockout a consistently solid month of workouts in the month of February 2010, then I will declare failure and publish my shirtless photos taken last year. I don’t want to face this and when I think about it, it really motivates me to act. I believe the psychological momentum is high enough right now to successfully handle that, but time will tell as to whether I actually do or not. Get going and go produce results, Brian!!!

Current Challenges & Optimizations

As I mentioned in my original commitment post, I have been extremely busy with obligations to my current projects & ventures. Traditionally, this very thing has been a big roadblock for my diligence in bodybuilding and other similar personal development commitments. Again, it is proving to be the biggest roadblock for my diligence within this current stacked physique commitment of mine. I’m letting the ups & downs and demands of my business work pull me out of the effective mindset needed for consistent workouts. I’m going to try to curb the effects of this pattern and turn it around.

Here are the optimizations I should implement to help produce solid results…

- Cultivate Overall Positivity & Momentum: I should put more effort into maintaining a better mindset overall in my life, that is more consistently filled with positivity & momentum. I’ve found that positivity & momentum in tandem are two powerful keys to a state of mind that is effective for producing results in achievement.

- Review & Renew Core Commitment Emotion Weekly: I should review my writings, photos, and the motivational feedback I’ve received from others regarding my stacked physique commitment as well as spend time deeply envisioning my life with my stacked physique, all at least on a weekly basis, in order to help keep the powerful positive emotions of my commitment fresh within myself. I need to make these resources easy to access too by assembling them in the folder that I keep my workout logs in.

- Block Out Workouts First Each Day: I should make my workouts the first major thing I do each day and put effort into segmenting the thoughts about the rest of my day from this workout timeframe.

*****

As always, I welcome all productive accountability, motivation, inspiration, encouragement, teasing or anything else you would like to contribute that will spur me on to produce results towards the stacked physique that can create so much personal value in my life and ripple out to the lives of others. I’m also happy to return the favor directly to you, if you’d like!

I’m going to send this blog post out to people within my personal network and I’m also going to plan on publishing these quarterly updates every three months, through my birthday on July 30th, 2010, assuming I can step up and be consistently diligent with my workouts.

SERIOUSLY GO DO IT BRIAN!!! I GUARANTEE IT WILL BE FUCKING AMAZING FOR YOU!!! :D
