Journal for Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

Today I spent a while modifying a desk of mine to become a mobile broadcasting station for my new amateur production studio that I’m setting up. I don’t take the chance to do it a lot, but building tangible stuff can be pretty fun. I didn’t expect to tackle this desk project today, but I got myself really internally motivated, which a lot brought on a powerful workout as well. I needed a kick in the ass from myself since I was being lazy beforehand. Turned out to be a good day after my mental turnaround and productive work.

Current Status Updates

Sunday @ 8:57pm ET – Chopping up my desk to modify it for my new production studio.

Sunday @ 6:59pm ET – Just knocked out a powerful tricep workout.

Journal for Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

I spent the day working on new technology today. First, I got a Linux server installation completed, although not configured yet. This will be used for development and learning. Second, I got a new Motorola Droid phone today. My primary motivation for doing so was to use it like a handtop computer and Remote Desktop into my desktop computer over the internet from anywhere. I’m typing this post from the Droid phone right now over Remote Desktop into my website’s CMS. Although a bit small, it works well enough to consistently use and I enjoy it. However, I will have to spend quite a bit of time re-engineering some of my environments and workflows to increase efficiencies with this Droid phone. I wasn’t expecting to get this new phone today, so that took up a lot of my time. I’m going to have to get my ass in gear tomorrow with my work!

Journal for Friday, January 1st, 2010

Today, I spent most of my time working to clean up a lot of things on the Open Achievement website, after the launch at midnight last night. i also had server and hosting company troubles to deal with, which set me back further. I’m slowly but surely getting everything developed and into operation with Open Achievement.

I’m happy that 2010 is here. I’m looking forward to making this a great year and Open Achievement is an important part of doing that!

Journal for Thursday, December 31st, 2009

Wow, what a jam-packed day! I wokeup this morning around 4:00am ET and started developing and preparing to launch Open Achievement tonight and worked about 12 hours straight to do so. Around 6:00pm ET, I then attended a New Year’s celebration and had fun joking, laughing, playing games, talking philosophy, being sick, and nearly falling asleep since I was so tired by the end of the night. At the stroke of midnight 1/1/2010, after a lot of challenges for over a year since its founding, Open Achievement was officially launched and is now open to the public. I’m super excited about Open Achievement and it is probably my absolute favorite company to date that I’ve started. I can’t wait to build it into a success, since it is entirely based on my passions and intellectual curiosity, and is poised to potentially change the world. I’m really looking forward to 2010 for several reasons, since I have built up a lot of momentum to achieve and experience some great things. Happy new year! :D

Journal for Saturday, December 12th, 2009

I powered through the day and completed my copywriting overhaul for my strategy firm by writing copy for about 10 hours straight. This is virtually all I accomplished today since it was such a demanding task. I’m happy that I’ve finally finished it and am proud of the final product. The new copy, along with the new referral program, should be impactful for the company and I am excited to see where it goes in 2010! Now, I get to focus on developing Open Achievement, which should be more fun! :D

Current Status Updates

Saturday @ 1:03pm ET – Wrapping up my current copywriting project for my strategy firm. Excited to finally be completing this!

Journal for Friday, December 11th, 2009

I accomplished a lot of work today and feel great about the momentum today’s productivity has produced.

I spent a while further developing a prior hack for my CMS that automates some of the posting functions every time I write a regular post here on brianwatkins.com. This will help save me time and encourage me to more frequently write certain posts, such as Current Status updates and Notes.

Even though I have a lot going on, I’m now tentatively planning on a launch for Open Achievement soon. Today, I created a list of everything I need to do for that Open Achievement launch. I also put a lot of time into working on some test development for the Open Achievement platform. Hours upon hours of work seemed to fly by and typically does when working on Open Achievement. I absolutely love the concept of Open Achievement and it is likely going to be a lifelong passion of mine.

I had fun celebrating a family member’s birthday later on. I also forced myself to complete a full workout of my chest and abs, despite being up for an extremely long time today. I’m glad I did since it has heightened my current momentum even more.

Current Status Updates

Friday @ 8:01pm ET – Very tired but pushing through and ripping up my chest & abs per my public commitment.

Friday @ 8:03am ET – Working on developing an upcoming launch for Open Achievement. :D

Today was a good day. :D

Journal for Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

I had one of the most powerful starts to my day that I’ve had in a long time! I wokeup with a lot of positivity & momentum and that mindset of wanting to cease the day. So I did by getting a solid about of work done, a couple workouts, and I got myself very organized again. Unfortunately I slipped later on and over invested myself into completing a lingering task without much value, however, at least that is out of my way and I can move on. Overall, this day was effective in positioning me to make solid progress throughout the rest of December.

Current Status Updates

Wednesday @ 8:10am ET – About to execute on a couple workouts to continue powering through my 2010 stacked physique commitment today!

Today’s Notes

Wednesday @ 10:01am ET – It always feels good to get organized! :)

Wednesday @ 7:54am ET – I’m feeling a lot of positivity & momentum today! Looking to leverage it into multiple workouts and business productivity today! :D

Journal for Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Today I felt a special sense of pride come over me for my recent work within my current projects & ventures. I’ve been working hard on a couple of these recently, Open Achievement included, and I’ve made some powerful jumps in quality development for them. I’m super excited about the potential of these current projects & ventures and can’t wait to release my latest developments out to the world, especially Open Achievement! :D

I was diligent for a couple hours today, but blew off my work for the rest of the day today. I’m looking forward to the day that I can establish predictable control over my diligence, however, I am progressing relatively well overall at this stage. When I was productive today, I advanced the copywriting overhaul for my strategy firm, which is going to be quite impactful, I believe.

Today’s Notes

Tuesday @ 8:50am ET – Feeling very proud of my recent work on my projects & ventures and their corresponding potential! :D

Journal for Monday, December 7th, 2009

I had a very productive day today! One of my most productive days in a long time, which always feels great. First off, I made meaningful progress on designing the platform for the Open Achievement Project. I had a couple breakthroughs here on how to handle some key information structure of Project Initiatives, which is going to help make the Project even better. Later on, I accomplished a lot of copywriting for my strategy firm, which is coming along very nicely and should help have notable impact within this venture of mine. I also diligently completed two workouts today of my lats & biceps. Overall, a very productive day for me and much needed since I have some personal deadlines approaching soon!

Current Status Updates

Monday @ 9:59am ET – Working on designing the platform for the Open Achievement Project. Very excited about its potential! :D

Monday @ 4:51am ET – Happy to be up and running again with a new fast & solid computer.
