I’ve been making it a habit for the past few years to release something major on brianwatkins.com on Midnight of New Year’s. For this year, I have brought several content updates and new website improvements to you. Let me go over some of the highlights of this 2008 New Year release…

As far as updating past content, I got way behind in 2007 with releasing new content. I’ve been working on & off throughout the past year to get it all organized and updated. However, there proved to be a ton to do. So I decided to release December of 2007’s content along with this release and get the rest live throughout the beginning of 2008. Check out what I’ve released and keep checking back for all of the rest soon. I wanted to at least put myself in a position of being able to start continuously releasing new content again in 2008. I’m really happy to be on track again with producing profound content on my website.

Now let’s look at just some of the improvements that I’ve made to my personal website…

Podcasting – As part of my new media production studio that I built, I own a professional grade microphone and I purchased a new video camera. Now, I am going to be producing multiple podcasts in audio & video about several subjects that I have a passion for. Initially, I will be doing podcasts of all of blogs on my personal website. However, in the future, I will expand to other pure podcasting concepts.

Media Gallery – Since I now have a production studio, I will be creating a lot of different multimedia content throughout the future. So I decided that a catchall multimedia section called the Media Gallery was needed on my website for me to post all types of pictures, audio, & video content for you to enjoy and comment on.

24/7 Voicemail – I decided to take the daring move of publishing my phone number out on the internet! And it is 1-888-392-5850. You can now call me toll free from any phone and leave me a personal message. You will get my voicemail 24/7 so don’t be afraid to try it out! Give me a call, tell me something interesting, and give me some feedback.

Private Chat – I love communicating with people who contact me through my website. However, the feedback loop felt too slow through email. So I decided to bring instant gratification into communicating with fans through my website by adding private chat functionality. Now, we can instant message when I’m online while you browse through my website. Let’s chat one-on-one with each other about something profound!

Current Status – I have been keeping you up to date on a daily basis with what I am doing through my Daily Journal. However, I took this to the next level and added a current status page that now let’s you follow me real-time whenever I post what I am up to throughout each and every day! You can even subscribe to the current status feed and be automatically updated on what I’m doing.

Mailing List – There are a lot of very important things that I will be publishing throughout the future that I won’t be putting here on my personal website. However, I decided to let you in on this inside track of my life. Here, in my personal mailing list, you will receive all of the exclusive stuff that I send out to the most important people in my life. There is no archival of these emails, so go signup for the list now!

Social Networking Profiles – I’ve upgraded and expanded my online social networking presence. Before, I only had a public MySpace profile. However, I now have profiles on MySpace, Facebook, and LinkedIn that you can friend me on and connect with me. I’ve revamped my MySpace profile into an even better one. I’ve also developed a mini-site at ExtremeEntrepreneur.com that aggregates my entire online social networking presence for you. Check it out and add me as your friend!

Projects – I’ve listed my ventures in the past but have also always been up to interesting things that couldn’t really be classified as business ventures. So now I have created and listed several projects that I have going on in my life. The key difference between projects & ventures is that projects do not have a primary intention to create substantial financial profit for me.

New Home Page Photo – I’ve had the same photo of myself on my home page for the last two years since the beginning of my website. I still look the same but I decided that a fresh picture was needed here. I got a lot of positive feedback from people on the last photo but I like this new one even more.

Concept Overviews – Logic is my sport of choice. I’ve always delved deep into many different concepts and have created several throughout my life as well. I have a place to list all of my meaningful vocabulary. So I decided that I need a place to write my overall perspective on many profound concepts as time goes on, such as Wealth Building.

Personal Policy – This is a policy page is where I will be adding the standards that I follow in many different scenarios & interactions in my life. I moved my contact policy over already and will be adding more as time goes by. This is to better help you and I interact more successfully.

Press Page – After receiving multiple media opportunities since taking my life public a couple years ago, I decided that a press page was necessary to better facilitate interactions with media professionals. I am open to all types of media opportunities and this is meant to better aid the process.

Page Comments – I’ve thoroughly enjoyed receiving comments on all of my regular content posts. However, you haven’t been able to comment on static pages until now. Now you can comment on virtually every place of my website. I’m looking forward to consistently receiving your comments.

Search Posts & Pages – Last year, I introduced global search functionality into my personal website that allowed you to search for keywords throughout all of my consistently updated content posts. But some of my most profound content is contained within static pages which were not searchable last year. Now, you can use the search box to search through just about every part of my website. Give it a try and search for something you are interested in to get my perspective on it.

January 2007 Site Statistics…

3,517 Unique Visitors

Not bad for virtually zero promotion ever. This was the transition month from brianwatkins.net to brianwatkins.com. As expected, this meant that a lot of people haven’t yet made the transition with me. This figure is actually from brianwatkins.net and not brianwatkins.com for this month. I had people visiting both. I am reporting only the .net number because some of the brianwatkins.com visitors could have also visited .net and I like to be conservative. I didn’t put key automatic redirects in place until the end of the month so the pure brianwatkins.com traffic should pickup next month.

I updated my Wealth Building Page with my initial definitions of the terms Wealth Building and Wealth Builder. This was brought on by my Wealth Building Blog post, Initial Wealth Building Definition, where I released these definitions.

I added a new word to my Vocabulary page which is BLT. No this is not the sandwich! This is much more tasty. This is an acronym standing for Bright, Light, and Tight. These are the names for the core characteristics I use to describe a high performing system of any kind. The world operates on many types of systems. If desiring big results in life then it is good to understand them. Now you can quickly gauge how well a system is performing using my concept of BLT. How bright, light, and tight is it?

Today I came to a distinction regarding the subjects of human nature, personal development, and personal success. Before today I had started my Personal Development Blog and my Success Blog. A lot of their concepts overlapped and this didn’t sit well with me. A distinction came to me today that gave me the logical path for solving this problem. That distinction was that both personal development and success primarily have to do with consciously working towards a goal. However, there is an unconscious factor hanging around in the same space. This is simply the way things work with people, otherwise called human nature. Understanding this is a big key to finding strategies to produce results and increase capability for producing results. It is a big part of the foundation for personal development and success. A lot of my personal development and success content works off of the understanding of human nature. So I have merged my Personal Development Blog into my Success Blog which will just be my Success Blog from now on since it is all about consciously working a result. My new Human Nature Blog is about the definition of how things exist and has acquired the previous spot held by the Personal Development Blog. This gives me the framework to be a lot clearer with the content that I will be publishing here throughout the future. I look forward to sharing my profound knowledge with you in both my Human Nature Blog and my Success Blog.

It is finally here! brianwatkins.net has now become brianwatkins.com! I acquired the brianwatkins.com domain name back in June of 2006. Since it was going to take a decent amount of work to move my website to the new domain name no matter what, I decided to improve the wordpress software that my site runs on and release all of the new content I was creating at once when I moved the site to brianwatkins.com. I have completed all of this and released it exactly on Midnight ET of the 2007 New Year. What an awesome way to kick off the New Year!

Everything went very smoothly right up to the hour before the launch. Then in the last hour before launch a catastrophe just had to occur. A software hack I did a few months ago became unstable and caused a major portion of my website’s software to crash and die. The effect of this was that none of my content posts were viewable including all of my hundreds of blog posts. The most profound content of my brianwatkins.com release was contained in the individual pages of my website though. These were still viewable so I decided to go ahead and launch my website on New Years since you could still get a lot of awesome new stuff. I will be fixing this and getting all of the posts live very soon.

This switch to brianwatkins.com is very significant. My site is definitely made for the brianwatkins.com domain name. It has finally found its home. Along with the switch I have launched a lot of new profound content and improved the website in many ways. My website still has the same nice template but a few powerful improvements have been made including email notification of new content, global site search, prominent MySpace link so you can connect with me there, and the revolutionary .bw file extension of the profound Brian Watkins file type, as well as many other small improvements that make my site topnotch. The best improvement of all to my site is the profound content that I have created and launched today. These are the Brian Watkins Magazine, my Ultimate Goals, my Ultimate Strategy, my Ventures, my proprietary timeless concept of Wealth Building, my own Wealth Building Algorithm, my new secondary personal brand named Buyout Rookie, a Vocabulary page with my commonly used words & phrases along with their definitions, a central new content Notification page, as well as three new blogs which are the Wealth Building Blog, Personal Development Blog, and the Success Blog.

I posted in more detail in the Site News section about all of the technical and content updates to brianwatkins.com. I also launched a few other websites today along with brianwatkins.com that are very profound, including Buyout Rookie and Change The World Club.

My website and total online presence wasn’t as motivating to me as it could have been throughout 2006 because it wasn’t in full alignment with what I was working on in life. Now that I have discovered how to properly communicate this to the world, I have further aligned the content of my website with who I am and what I am doing with my life. I am extremely motivated by this release of brianwatkins.com due to this. It fits me, I love what I do, and I get really motivated just by looking at my website now! I am extremely happy that brianwatkins.com is here and can’t wait to release more of me into it for you!

Since so many people are on MySpace and I have an awesome MySpace page I thought that I might as well promote it as another way to connect with people. I did so by putting an image link to my MySpace profile in the upper right-hand corner of my site. Just click it and add me as a friend on MySpace.

I decided to remove the monthly archive links in my blogs except for my Daily Journal. Instead you can access the posts in each blog through its categories.

I am now providing email notification for new content in my blogs as well as the other sections of my website that receive regular postings of new content. I’ve included an email signup form within the Content Bar of each of these sections as well as on the global Notification page.

I created a new blog called the Success Blog. This is about having universal success principles for succeeding with any personal goal. I’ve recently made some major advancements in my understanding of personal success strategies and will be sharing them through this blog.
