New Design – My brand new personal website design is the absolute biggest fundamental difference to brianwatkins.com 2.0. I don’t really believe too much in keeping things fresh by consistently publishing new designs for variety’s sake when it comes to my personal brand. My philosophy is to dig deep and fundamentally get things right and then stick with it for quite a while to leverage the power of consistency. The reason why I fundamentally changed to a new design & layout is #1) to align my personal website better with my total personal brand & personality and #2) to allow for greater expansion of my website content, features, multimedia, etc. I’m extremely excited about the design & layout and what I can now do with them!

Personal Tagline – My official personal tagline is “Your dream life is waiting.” I spent over three years creating, questioning, and deciding on this specific personal tagline for myself to use as standard practice with virtually all communications & content of mine, through my personal brand. It is such a multifaceted phrase for me and has extremely deep meaning. Plus it is used to constantly help engage & impact others. It is in real philosophical alignment with my Ultimate Goals and I really like it. I just now began saying & using this tagline consistently as of the launch of brianwatkins.com 2.0 and plan to use it indefinitely. Now, with just about everything I put out there, you will see my inspirational & challenging tagline: “Your dream life is waiting.”

Upgraded Sidebar – My website’s sidebar is much wider & prominent now in version 2.0. In the past, I wanted to keep the sidebar to a minimum and really emphasize & focus primarily on the main content space. However, the web as a whole has really beefed up their sidebars throughout the past few years. I consider much of what has been implemented by others in website sidebars to be cheap fluff that becomes a distraction to the main content and reduces the value of the overall website’s experience. But I’ve slowly built up ideas for how an extensive sidebar can be of value to a world class personal website. Offering solid, intriguing content regarding myself and dynamically adapting it to fit the context of the page you are on are the primary principles I used to achieve this. Beyond having the creative ideas for a high quality sidebar, I think a big reason why most people’s sidebars don’t measure up is that they don’t have as deep of a content slate to work off of for their sidebar. With me, I’m delving into so many perspectives of my life with my personal website, that I can feed my website’s sidebar with that in valuable ways.

Live Broadcast – I am super excited about introducing live video broadcasts into my personal website! The internet is changing media for the world and now anyone with a high speed internet connection and webcam can produce live video for the world to watch. However, this goes beyond traditional live television, because you have the ability to interact with me live, real-time during the broadcast. This is currently achieved through text chat with many people at once as well as my ability to take VOIP audio & video calls. None of these technologies are brand new, but are still new enough and certainly new to brianwatkins.com & the public side of my personal brand. I think live video is going to take things to a new level for me & you. You can go to my personal calendar and get notified of upcoming live broadcasts, so that you don’t miss out on any. During my live broadcasts, I plan to talk more about myself, the subjects I love including human achievement, psychology, wealth building, happiness, human connection, personal development, etc, as well as engage & connect with you guys personally one-on-one.

Social Networking Profiles – I’ve upgraded and extended my social networking presence on the internet as of this brianwatkins.com 2.0 phase. Throughout the past, I have maintained personal public profiles on MySpace, Facebook, & LinkedIn. I have refreshed & upgraded these profiles of mine, especially my MySpace Profile. I’ve decided to make them more personable to help foster deeper connections with more people, as I plan to reach out and connect more than ever. I have also jumped on the bandwagon with a couple other social networking & social media sites including Twitter & YouTube. Accordingly, I’ve updated my social networking mini-site ExtremeEntrepreneur.com to reflect these additions. As stated before, my profiles around the web exist as a secondary tier of engagement for me with people to the primary internet home of my personal brand, here at brianwatkins.com. So be sure to reach out, friend me, and engage me further!

Connect With Me – This is one of my absolute favorite additions to my personal website with brianwatkins.com 2.0! As I state, the absolute #1 fulfilling thing in life for me is consistently experiencing deep positive human connection with other high quality people…and I would actually argue that this is the case for virtually all other people. Since this is a huge motive behind my life & my website, I’ve decided to go direct and explicitly address this with a new page dedicated to facilitating more positive, valuable, deep connections with awesome people who have an interest in me. Here, you can learn what I naturally like in other people and how to go about building an awesome connection & friendship with me. I’m all about openly putting myself out there to connect with great people, instead of putting walls up. So if you are interested, find out how to initiate a personal connection with me.

Contribute To Me – A lot of people consistently reach out to me with offers to contribute value to me & my life. That is a natural & fundamental part of humanity & society. I really appreciate all constructive offers of contribution to me. However, most offers have been getting declined, simply because they are either not valuable enough to help me or they are valuable but not applicable to me & my life at that time. It all comes down to everyone valuing things uniquely. So in order to help facilitate more successful engagements of this nature with those who want to offer & contribute concrete value to me & my life, I’ve create this new page to help spell out in principle some of what I value and will likely say “Yes” to. Calendar – I plan on doing a lot more in the future that allows for public participation of some kind, so I created a calendar with feed to allow you to follow what I’m going to be doing that you can potentially be involved in. A couple consistent things I have planned for this year & beyond are Live Broadcasts & Private Chats, where a fair amount will be prescheduled through the calendar.

Current Status – I began periodically publishing my Current Status of what was going on with me throughout my day as part of my 2008 New Year Site Release. For the last year, this has existed as a single page on my personal website where each day’s status updates were taken from that page and published within my Daily Journal post. However, now, I have decided to upgrade my Current Status page into a full blown section on brianwatkins.com. This primarily means that all of my Current Status updates will each have their own unique permalink to live at. But I will certainly still include them into each day’s journal. Questions – I’m always learning & growing my understanding & skills in many areas of life, like a universal man. Proposing questions to one’s mind is a fundamental & powerful way to grow one’s knowledge & understanding, which I constantly do. So I decided to integrate this personal process into my website and share it with you by establishing my dedicated Questions sections where I propose powerful questions that I am thinking about and could use deep input from those with further insight. I intend to keep the questions here pretty deep, where they will typically take long-term debate and not just a quick internet search. Human Achievement Blog & Podcast – This associated blog & podcast of mine is not brand new. Instead, I have slightly rebranded them with a new name. My Success Blog & Success Podcast have now been named the Human Achievement Blog & Human Achievement Podcast. The reason for this change is because later on in 2008, when developing my Open Achievement project, I created the term “human achievement” in my mind when writing copy. The context of this was me being unsatisfied with not having a more global & quality sounding term to sum up all of the concepts of personal development, success, personal growth, achievement, self-improvement, etc, with both individuals & groups. Once I established the term “human achievement” with myself, I knew that I totally identified with it, have been obsessed with the concept for a longtime, that others would easily understand it, and that it would become a pillar of my personal brand. And I haven’t heard this term used in a major way by personal development & achievement content creators, so I really liked that it was an original creation of mine. My Success Blog & Podcast primarily dealt with this space, so I decided to take the first step of integrating “human achievement” into my personal brand by rebranding them as my Human Achievement Blog & Human Achievement Podcast.

Communications – Many communication systems and especially the internet as a whole are very open systems. With this, the issue of manipulation & confusion of true identity comes into play. Since I am building a deeply meaningful personal brand for myself, I want to make sure that authentic credit is given to only my genuine communications with people. So I’ve developed my Communications section to document my authentic public communications with people. This really helps ensure that my identity & brand can’t be hijacked by unscrupulous people and that confusion of whether a statement is personally coming from me or not doesn’t occur. Also, this allows interested people to follow more of what I’m personally engaging in outside of my personal website. Some of my public communications will not be documented here if they are otherwise easily referenced through genuinely verifiable sources, such as within my personal social networking profiles. In the future, when I have fully developed the system, I plan to also document the authenticity of private communications (however, these will obviously remain private between the recipient and I). Site Archives – Because I’ve always planned to maintain a world class personal website that is deeply integrated into my life for a really longtime, I’ve always known that I would need a archives section for retired parts of my website over time. As you can tell from this Site News section, my personal website is like an entity on to itself. And, of course, it would only be proper to publicly archive & document any retired parts of my website that are indefinitely going away from the current main presentation of my website. This will help establish a more rich history for my personal website over time where you can look into the past for almost every notable part that ever existed since the beginning at Midnight, 1-1-2006. Also, it is the more open, honest, authentic thing to do, which is what I’m ultimately all about doing. I haven’t needed an archives section over the past 3 years because I have never archived any notable part of my personal website, until now. With recent life changes and the release of brianwatkins.com 2.0, I have decided to archive a few things for the first time. Therefore, it was necessary for me to establish the Site Archives section of brianwatkins.com at this point in time.
